3. Application, intended use

PCM Pump Controllers are special devices for controlling
drainage, waste water and rainwater pumps.
These controllers are used for both ready-to-connect dis-
posal units and individually designed sump systems.
The devices are also suitable for controlling and monitor-
ing explosion-proof pumps. In general, the devices must
be installed in areas free from the risk of explosion, even
when operating explosion-proof pumps.

4. General product description

PCM are pump controllers for controlling 1 or 2 pumps in
a waste water sump or disposal unit.
Depending on requirements, different level measurement
systems can be connected:
Float switch
Dynamic pressure (with and without air bubble for-
mation)
4-20 mA signal (e.g. hydrostatic pressure sensor)
Both single phase and three-phase pumps can be oper-
ated. The capacitors required for certain sizes are already
installed in the standard housing.
The built-in motor contactors are designed for a maximum
rated motor current of 11.5 A per pump. The current of
each pump is measured via integral current transformers
in the phase L1. The tripping characteristics of the curve
stored in the controller ensure reliable overload protection
for the pump. Tripping causes the pump to stop immedi-
ately. Restarting is only possible after the Reset button
has been pressed.
Inputs T/T are available for connecting thermal switches
from the winding (Klixon). Depending on requirements,
these can be programmed so that the pump is either
switched back on automatically once it has cooled down
or remains permanently blocked. In this case, manual
acknowledgement by pressing the Reset button is also
required (ATEX mode).
The system is operated via a capacitive, sensitive con-
trol panel located directly below the cover. The keypad is
equipped with 4 capacitive sensors, so no openings need
to be made in the cover. The protection class of the hous-
ing is therefore not affected.
The most important statuses are indicated by a total of
9 LEDs.
Detailed information on the status of the controller and
parameter setting options can be found in an app available
from the corresponding stores.
HOMApp can be downloaded free of charge from the
Google Play Store for Android devices or from the Apple
Store for iOS devices.
HOMApp can be used on smartphones and tablets. These
devices communicate with the controller via Bluetooth.
Please note: The Reset button can only be pressed
once the keypad has been unlocked with the Unlock
button. The green Bluetooth LED indicates that the
keypad is unlocked.
