2. Warnings and safety information

This section lists all generally applicable safety informa-
tion and technical instructions. During transport, installa-
tion, operation, maintenance, etc. of the devices, all infor-
mation and instructions must be observed and followed!
The operator is responsible for ensuring that all personnel
adhere to the following information and instructions.

2.1. Instructions and safety information

The controllers must always be installed outside any
area with a potentially explosive atmosphere.
For operation with a float switch or 4-20 mA sensors in
zones with potentially explosive atmospheres, appropri-
ate Zener barriers with corresponding approval must be
provided.
Always disconnect the devices from the power supply
before opening them.
Existing regulations on accident prevention, those of the
VDE and local energy supply companies must be ob-
served.
DANGER due to dangerous voltage!
When working on the open controller, there is a risk
to life from electric shock. When working on the open
controller or pump, the controller must always be
disconnected from the power supply (either backup
fuse or external mains isolator) and secured against
reconnection. Work may only be carried out by qual-
ified electricians. All unused cable glands must be
fitted with blanking caps or blanking glands.
Observe the wiring diagram when making the connec-
tions. The technical specifications must be strictly ob-
served! The on-site connection must be protected with
a maximum fuse rating of 25 A. The maximum possible
connection cross-section at the supply terminals is 4 mm².
If defects occur which endanger safety, the operator must
initiate an immediate shutdown. Such defects include:
• Failure of the safety and/or monitoring equipment
• Damage to important parts
• Damage to electrical equipment, cables and insula-
tion.
The limit values specified in this manual must always be
observed. Operational safety is only guaranteed if the
equipment is used as intended.
