2. Modulation Capabilities:
Input a standard modulator test signal into the microphone audio. See
The transmitter output should go to either a modulation analyzer or oscilloscope.
Ensure that the transmitter is terminated into a 50Ω load capable of dissipating at
least 15W.

TEST DATA SHEET
118.00 MHz: _________ NLT 70%
126.50 MHz: _________ NLT 70%
136.97 MHz: _________ NLT 70%
Carrier Noise Level:
Modulate the carrier with 70% at 1000 Hz. Noise on the carrier with mod-
ulation removed shall be NLT (use linear detector shown in
118 MHz _________ > 35 dB
126.5 MHz ________ > 35 dB
136.95 MHz ________ > 35 dB
Demodulated Audio Distortion. This is an optional test that requires a dis-
tortion analyzer and the linear detector shown in fig 5-4
Distortion
350 Hz ______________ ≤15%
______________ ≤15%
1 kHz
2.5 kHz ______________ ≤15%
Headphone Sidetone:
Input a 1000 Hz, tone into the microphone audio and adjust its level to pro-
duce 70% mod. Make sure the NAV volume control is set fully counter-
clockwise. Monitor the Comm Audio output (loaded with 500Ω). Go to
alignment mode and adjust SIDE from minimum (000) to maximum (256).
_________ 0.003 Volts (Min)
__________ 7.07 Volts (Max.)(Measured with 500 Ohm load)
__________ Set SIDE for 1.40 V at end of test.
