BLOCK DIAGRAM THEORY OF OPERATION

Refer to Figure 4-1 for the following block diagram explanation. The KX 165A Navcom transceiver
includes a VHF communication receiver and transmitter, VOR Navigation receiver, glideslope re-
ceiver, VOR/LOC converter I/O, front panel with display, power supply, and central processing unit
with various interface circuits. The CPU controls the functions of the unit, and includes memory,
I/O, and several other functions. Each major function block diagram is described in subsequent
sections.
