Section 4 – Inspections Before Operation

4.1 Operator's Responsibility

Do these tasks before each work shift in this
sequence:
1. Visual and daily maintenance inspections
(refer to
Section
4.2).
WARNING
Do an inspection on the MEWP for damage or
loose or missing parts. If damage is found, lock
and tag the MEWP and remove it from service. If
you do not obey, there is a risk of death or serious
injury.
2. Function tests (refer to
Refer to
Section 4.4
for a checklist of the inspection
items.
WARNING
If the MEWP is damaged or has been modified
from the initial factory-delivered condition, without
permission from Skyjack, lock and tag the MEWP .
Remove the MEWP for servicing. If you do not
obey, there is a risk of death or serious injury.
Repairs to the MEWP are tasks only for a qualified
service technician. Do the visual and daily
maintenance inspections and function tests again
after the repairs.
Scheduled maintenance inspections are a task only
for a qualified service technician.
