12. Firmware updates

The firmware update of the multifunctional charger keeps the current software version up-to-date. The
functions and parameters can be easily adapted to changes. The latest firmware or the update pro-
gramme can be found together with the current operating instructions in the download area.
For a firmware update, proceed as follows.
1 Connect the charger to a free USB port on a computer using an optional Micro USB cable. Insert the
Micro USB plug into the rear Micro USB socket (4).
2 Connect the power adapter to the charger and put the charger into operation. The charger will auto-
matically enter the firmware upgrade mode.
3 Use "Update programme" to start the update process according to the instructions.

13. Cleaning and maintenance

a) General information

The device is absolutely maintenance-free except for occasional cleaning.
Regularly check the device for technical safety, for example, for damage to the casing
or deformation, etc.

b) Cleaning the casing

Always observe the following safety information before cleaning the device:
Unplug the power adapter from the mains socket and remove the plug from the charger.
Remove all rechargeable batteries from the charging slots.
Do not use abrasive detergents, petrol, alcohol or other similar chemicals to clean
the device. These might damage the surface of the device. In addition, the vapours
emitted by these substances are explosive and harmful to your health. Do not use
sharp-edged tools, screwdrivers or metal brushes to clean the device.
To clean the device and the display, use a clean, lint-free, antistatic and slightly damp
cleaning cloth. Allow the device to dry completely before using it again.
