Cleaning the Thermal Conductivity Detector

After verifying that the carrier supply gas and flow system components are
leak- and contaminant-free, you can clean the detector by bakeout.
1.
Turn off the detector.
2.
Remove the column from the detector, then cap the detector column
fitting.
3.
Establish a normal reference gas flow rate (20 to 30 mL/min) through
the detector (set oven temperature to 250°C).
4.
Heat the detector to 400°C. Allow thermal cleaning to continue for several
hours.
