RUN HODE PARAMETERB
As
"ould
be expected from an up to the minute
instrument,
the
BIT
MASTER
KEYBOARD's
sequencer is versatile,
and will happily work
in
tandem
with your other sequencers or drum ~achines -
and
also
with
the
co~puters
that
are
gradually finding their
"ay
into
~any
a
~usician's
keyboard
set
up.
The following parameters are
used
to
configure
the
HASTER
KEYBOARD sequencer
when
working
with
these
machines:
we've
taken
all
the pain out of interfacing
wjth
the
outside world!
It's now simple to co-ordin~te features like the Clock
- for perfect ti,ekeeping - and synchronize START/STOP commands too.
I
FUNCTION 4A CCLK. SOURCE]
In this para•eter you tell the sequencer just which clock to watch, or
listen for,
according to which of the sequencers etc.
in your set-up
is acting as what you could call 'official tî1e-keeper'.
The
default setting for FUNCTION
4A
is
LOCAL - shown as •Le•
CENTER
display - where
the
sequencer remains its o"n lord and
and uses the internal clock for orientation.
in
the
11aster
One
step up using the
"+"
button,
you'll find the HlDI CLOCK setting
(nMd• in the display).
This synchronizes the sequencer to an incoming
HlDI
CLOCK signal,
originating in another HID! unit with HIDI
CLOCK
capability.
You can also synchronize the "ASTER KEYBOARD sequencer to
incoming
timekeeping
data
arriving
at
the SYNC-IN
or
TAPE-SYNC-IN
sockets
(on the back panel).
You'll need to hit the
u+"
button
one
~ore time, so that
•sy•
appears in the display.
The BIT NASTER
KEYBOARD sequencer can
also
act
as
time-keeper
for
other
units
connected to the
SYNC OUT
socket,
It
will
trans1it
a
clock
signal to Tape Machines,
which th2 HASTER KEYBOARD will
later
recognize and use for perfect syncronization to your taped
recording,
This
signal should be recorded on a
~eparate
Tape Track.
As the
on-
board
sequencer is acting as the 'aa5ter' here,
FUNCTIO~ 4A ~ust
be
set
to
nlcu,
activating
the internal clock.
(Note that
the
•sy•
setting
is only used when the
HASTER KEYBOARD
sequencer is
receiving
synchronization data),
I
FUNCTION
48
[START-STOP CONTINUE]
Co-ordination
of
the START/STOP and CONTINUE commands with
e~ternal
units
works
in
a similar
way:
you can
tell
the
sequencer
which
com~ands to ac~ on,
i.e.
which STOP button is relevant.
Setting •Le"
here
will
enable only local commands;
if you only want to start
or
stop the sequencer via MIDI commands from another unit set
"Nd~.
For
co~plete
flexibility,
you can choose the value •bH• - which lets you
start
the sequencer from either "STOP/START" button!
(Choose
values
using
the
•+;-n buttons and check the current setting in
the
RIGHT
display).
