AFTER TOUCH
AF/PB/W
This
section
of
the
KEYBOARD MAP
lets
you
assign
a
specific
destination,
or
'label',
to
the
control data
5ent
out by the
BIT
"ASTER KEYBOARD,
When the HIDI specifications were first set
up,
no
binding
definition "as
established
governing Controller
Nu~bers
(like
the
Modulation
Wheel,
Portamento feature etc.).
This
left
synthesizer
manufacturers free
to
assign their own Controller Nu•bers - which
has
resulted
in some
confusion!
ln the meanti~e,
sone general consensus
has e~erged,
and in
the
following sections we mention so~e of the more
co~monly used
Controller
Nu~bers,
You
should, however,
check
the MIDI
i•ple•entation
chart
for
your instruments to find
out
just
which
Controller Numbers
they
accept, and how they interpret
them.
This
feature
is also especially useful
with After
Touch
data,
for
by
re-routing this information you may find a way of 'translating'
it
for
a
slave
that doesn't 'speak' After
Touch!
