If after several atte,pts

including trying different volume settings,
you
are
still getting a •bAD FILE" error message you should try
the
"hole
operation again using a new (i.e •. unused) cassette until
data
verification
is
successful.
There
is
a
brief
data
transfer
troubleshooting guide after the following section1 check it out before
you
despa~r completely!

Loading
data
from cassette into the
BIT "ASTER
KEYBOARD
over-
writes
the me~ory:
CHECK that the data now in storage has
been
saved
onto
cassette itself
or
is
no
longer
needed!!!
Use
the
switch
on
the
front panel to select which
data
to
load,
as
described
above
for data
storage.
(aKBn
for keyboard data only,
•sEn
for
sequencer data only;
or
•KB~
SE• for all data).
Press
the nTAPE• button; its LED will
co•e
on.

Press the "LOAD/COPY~ button on the BIT HASTER KEYBOARD,
and the
PLAY button on the cassette
recorder.
The level on the
cassette
recorder
(if.under manual control) should be set to about 1/2 of
the maximum level.
This level
varies
from •achine to ~achine, so
you say have to try several
ti•es
before finding the ideal level.

the cassette recorder saves endless fiddling),

the
end of the data transfer the BIT "ASTER
KEYBOARD Nill
inform
you
if
it
was
successful,
as
described above under VERIFY.
After
a
successful
transfer press the "TAPE"
button
again to
return
the BIT "ASTER KEYBOARD to
its
Normal Hode and power up settings, with
a
me~ory full
of new Patches from the tape!

yes,
as
you

already
have guessed, we are now going to re~ind
you
to make sure that
the
"HEHORY
PROTECT" switch is "ONn - protecting all these
precious
Patches fro~ sundry disasters!

Bulk
transfers of MID] data can also be
acco•plished
at
far
greater
speeds
in HIDI DUMP format;
this
data is
transmitted
'en bloc'
over
MIDI IN fro~ a
sequencer,
another synthesizer, coaputer equipped
Hith
the
relevant
software,
or
may also be exchanged directly
from
the
Memory
of
another
BIT NASTER KEYBOARD.
