STORING PRDBRAKS ON CASSETTE
Connect
the
"TAPE
IN" socket on the BIT NASTER KEYBOARD with
the
headphones output
of the
cassette recorder,
and
the RJAPE
aur•
socket
Mith
the
Microphone
or Aux input on the cassette recorder.
Use the 3-
way
switc~ on the front panel to select the
type
of data you
want
to
save: •sE" for sequencer data only; "KBDM for keyboard data (Patches!)
only;
or
"SE
& KBD•
to
save the entire
memory.
Now press
the
red
•JAPE"
button on the front panel.
The NASTER KEYBOARD is
now
in
Tape
Mode,
shown
by
the
LED above the
•JAPE•
button
and
•tAPE•
in
the
display: you are ready to go!
1)
Switch the cassette recorder to record.
2)
Press
the
•SAVE/EXCHANGE• button on the
BIT
"ASTER
KEYBDARD.
First a sine
wave
i•
transeitted, to ensure
the correct
level in
•achines
with
automatic recording level
adjust•ent.
Recorders
with
manual
recording level should be adjusted so that
the
VU
meter reads between
-5
and
O YU.
3)
After
around 20-30 5econds of continuous signal the data will be
trans11itted.
4)
When
the
data transfer is over,
the
•sAVE~
LED will go out,
and
the
display will confirm co~pletion of the storage process
by
showing
•Good".
(Transferring Sequencer data may
take
up to five
•inutes,
so
be
patient!),
To check your stored
data
in
the
verification procedure described in the following
section
you
•ust
re11ain
in
TAPE 11ode.
Otherwise,
pressing the TAPE
button
again returns you to normal operating
11ode
and power up status.
YERtFICATION OF DATA STORED TD TAPE
To
ensure
that
the
data downloaded to
cassette
contains
neither
trans~ission errors nor drop-outs,
the KASTER KEYBOARD allows you
to
verify
this
data.
For fairly obvious reasons,
you should
make
no
changes
whatsoever on the NASTER KEYBOARD between the SAVE_ and VERIFY
operations!
