this is especially useful in conjunction

EXT. SET
As
Ne
all knoN,
an immense a•ount of data is trans•itted
to
slave
units on each Patch Change command,
Data transftission is fast, but it
still takes a certain ,mount of time for instructions to reach all the
instru~ents
in
a
systeft and to
be
implemented.
When
a
certain
data
limit is reached some delay may become audible,
leaving the last unit
in your MIDI daisychain li•ping behind
on
a progra• change Hhen you're
ready to
play
on. This has nothing to do with the quality of the slave
or
the
"ASTER KEYBOARD,
but is a
matter
of
the
ftaxiau•
possible
speed when transmitting data via
MIDI,
The
operating system of the
BIT "ASTER KEYBOARD
is programmed to take
this into account,
and, among other details, will only send a progra•
change command when truly neccessary.
If the system notices that the
current Patch is transMitting Sound Progra•
~27u
over MIDI channel
J,
and the next Patch also uses Sound
Program
"27n on MIDI channel 3
1
no
Program Change com~and will be sent.
This reduces the data floN,
and
avoids ti~e lags as far as possible.
The EXT. SET button allows you to over-ride the operating softHare and
transmit all data.
This feature is useful Nhere front pan~l
settings
on
a
receiving keyboard have been changed during play
{e.g.
manual
filter sweep).
Using EXT. SET lets you return these settings to their
original status for the next song,
in the above exa•ple Sound Program

Pressing
uEXT

it will re-set all

twice gives you a general re-set and returns all parameters to
their 'power up' status.
