D)
INSTALLING YOUR SYSTEM ELECTRICALLY
Installation should only be carried out by a qualified electrical engineer.
Ensure that the dryer is connected to a suitably rated AC supply with means of external fused isolation.
The dryer must only be used on alternating current (AC) at the voltage shown on the rating plate (fixed
to the instrumentation shroud) and MUST BE EARTHED.

MPXE MODELS
GENERAL
The MPXE range of compressed air dryers have the provision for dual voltage operation at either 110V 50/60Hz
or 230V 50/60Hz. This is not an automatic process and a selector switch in the transformer enclosure must be
set to the correct position before switching on for the first time.
The dryer must be powered from an externally fused electrical supply.
The suggested electrical supply cable is 3 core, 1.5mm
The dryer must be earthed/grounded.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTION (See Figure 3)
Open the control shroud (9 - Figure 2) and locate the transformer enclosure (See Figure 3 for general
appearance). Remove the four corner screws which retain the clear lid and remove the lid
Remove a blanking grommet from one of the shroud supports and feed the supply cable through and into the
transformer enclosure via the unused cable gland (1).
Connect the cables to the terminals (2) as shown in Figure 3 and ensure the voltage selector switch (3) displays
the correct voltage. Tighten the cable gland (1) and replace the box lid.
OPTIONAL CONNECTION
For remote fault indication a volt free relay is fitted. To access this feature feed the cable through the shroud
support as above and into the transformer enclosure via the unused cable gland (4) after removing the blanking
plug. The connections to the relay are shown in Figure 3. In normal operation, the relay is permanently
energised and will de-energise in the event of a power failure or fault condition. The relay is designed to provide
a fault signal and is rated at 250VAC, 1A maximum.
