Setting up Ice Fishing on the Control Head
Use the instructions for your Humminbird control head model in the section below to start ice fishing.
If your Humminbird control head is an ICE Series model (ICE Series, ICE HELIX® CHIRP Series, etc.), use the following instructions to get
started using the control head for ice fishing. See your control head operations manual for operations instructions.
1. Power On: Press the POWER key.
2. While the Title screen is shown on the display, press the MENU key. Select Normal mode, and press the RIGHT Cursor key to start
Normal mode.
NOTE: If you wait too long to select a start-up option, the system will start the mode that is already highlighted. If your control head goes
into Demonstration mode, please note that menu settings cannot be saved in this mode. See your control head operations manual for
more information.
3. If the transducer is working properly, you will see the bottom on the sonar view.
Confirm the Connected Transducer: Depending on your control head model, you may have to select the connected transducer in the
menu system. To confirm the transducer, go to Main Menu > Sonar > Connected Transducer.
If your Humminbird control head is an ICE Flasher Series model, use the following instructions to get started. See your ICE Flasher Series
manual for operations information.
1. Power On: Turn the Power/Range dial to A (Auto) or x1 to power on the control head.
2. If all connections are correct and power is available, the Humminbird control head will enter Normal operation.
3. If the transducer is working properly, you will see the bottom on the sonar view.
If your Humminbird control head is NOT an ICE Series model (ICE Series, ICE HELIX CHIRP Series, etc.) or ICE Flasher Series model, use the
following instructions to configure the control head for ice fishing.
1. Power On: Press the POWER key.
2. While the Title screen is shown on the display, press the MENU key. Select Normal mode, and press the RIGHT Cursor key to start
Normal mode.
NOTE: If you wait too long to select a start-up option, the system will start the mode that is already highlighted. If your control head
goes into Demonstration mode, please note that menu settings cannot be saved in this mode. See your control head operations manual
for more information.
3. Main Menu: Press the Menu key twice. Select the Sonar tab.
4. Select Ice Fishing.
5. Press the RIGHT Cursor key to turn Ice Fishing mode On.
When Ice Fishing mode is On, the Flasher View displays the sonar data in traditional flasher format with additional features including
Zoom and Depth Cursor. See your control head operations manual for details.
When Ice Fishing mode is Off, the Flasher View displays Real Time Sonar (RTS™) data in a traditional flasher format.
6. Confirm the Connected Transducer: Depending on your control head model, you may have to select the connected transducer in the
menu system. To confirm the transducer, go to Main Menu > Sonar > Connected Transducer.
7. Down Imaging® models only: If the control head is a Down Imaging model, select Digital Depth Source from the Sonar tab. Press the
RIGHT or LEFT Cursor keys to select 2D Element.
8. Close: Press the EXIT key until the menu system is closed.
