Step 3: Prepare and Power up the Signal Generator

Avoid changing the settings described below (available from the Windows Control
Panel). Changes to these settings may degrade instrument performance, screen
displays, and measurement speed.

To Do This...
Add the Instrument to a network
Install and configure a printer
Set the time and date
Click Advanced system settingsto open the System Properties dialog.
In this dialog, go to Advanced tab and clickSettings under
Performance to open Performance Options dialog. The default option
is Let Windows choose what's best for my computer. You can also
select Adjust for best performance.
You should leave the remaining selections unchanged.

Do not change Power Options.
Click Advanced system settingsto open the System Properties dialog.
In this dialog, there is a Hardwaretab. You should not modify any settings
under the Hardware tab.
In this dialog, there is a Advanced tab. You should not modify any
settings under the Advanced tab except as described above under
Settings that can be Changed.
