INSTALLATION

2.1
Connecting the StaR Adapter to the Telephone
(Refer to FIGURE 6 On Pages 7-8)
2.1.1
Unplug the handset cord from the telephone base and insert
it into the jack labeled with the handset symbol
the back panel of the StaR Adapter (FIGURE 2).
2.1.2
Next, connect the supplied cord from the rear of the StaR
Adapter Telephone jack labeled with the telephone symbol
to the modular connecting jack on your telephone base where the
handset cord normally connects. (FIGURE 3).

If an optional headset is being used, insert modular end of
the headset cord (supplied with the StaR Adapter) into the
headset jack
on the front of the StaR Adapter. (FIGURE 3)
2.2

Setting the 5-Position Switch

The StaR Adapter has been designed to work with all AT&T
telephones. The following steps will ensure that the Adapter
works correctly with your telephone.

2.2.1
Locate the plastic mini-screwdriver attached to the bottom
of the StaR Adapter (FIGURE 4). Slide it out of the bracket.

Utilize the mini-screwdriver to move the slide switch (FIGURE
to the correct setting for your telephone, as shown below.
2.2.3
For some electronic telephones, such as Partner® or Spirit™
you must connect an AC/DC power supply as follows:
Insert the power supply plug into the jack marked on the back
of the adapter (Use only UL 81J1 approved Class 2 power
supply, 7.5 VDC and 200m A) Model #7520.
Plug the AC to DC power supply into a 110V AC outlet.
Set the slide switch to Position 5.
