(1) Fold the material as shown, hand-
tack the hem.

(2) Adjust the hem-width correspond-
ing to the pattern by turning the
small screw on the right side of
the cloth guide.
(3) Sew carefully, guiding the soft
fold against the guide.
Make sure the slanting stitches
pierce only one or two threads Of
the soft fold.
Remove the tacking.
