Status Indicator Flashing versus Capacity Indicator Flashing or Solid

If the Total Command system is active but any of the conditions of operation are not met, the joystick will
be disabled and the green status indicator will flash. This is different from the capacity light flashing, in that
full operational control resumes and the green light is solid as soon as the operational conditions are met.
The flashing or solid capacity light requires time for the batteries to recharge or the thruster to cool for the
condition to be corrected.
If the motors are close to getting too hot or the battery voltage is close to getting too low for proper
functioning, the capacity light will start to flash. The system will still operate with the light flashing. However,
continued use through this condition could lead to motor overheating or total discharge of the batteries,
which will cause the capacity indicator to light solid and the joystick to stop functioning until the capacities
are returned to normal. While the capacity light is solid, the joystick is inoperable, but the thruster switchpad
will still operate the remaining operational thruster. The capacity light will not reset until all conditions return
to normal.

Maneuvering with the Joystick

A spinning propeller, a moving boat, or any solid device attached to the boat can cause serious injury or
death to swimmers. Stop the engine immediately whenever anyone in the water is near your boat.
To maneuver the boat with the joystick:
1. Move both electronic remote control (ERC) levers to the neutral position.
2. Turn the rudders to the straight ahead position.
3. Activate the Total Command system.
4. Move the joystick in the direction that you want the boat to move, or twist the joystick in the direction
that you want the boat to rotate. The joystick can be moved and rotated at the same time.
