- Move the throttle lever (slider control) to the "full throttle" position. The motor automatically runs, accelerating until it reaches maximum
rotational speed. The controller will now automatically switch the motor off again, and the programming procedure is complete. You can
now disconnect the flight battery.
Since, in the operation mode helicopter, a soft start-up function is programmed the controller will cut the throttle only slowly, within 3
seconds, when the user pushes the throttle lever to the position "Motor off". The idea is to prevent a crash which might occur when a user
carelessly pushes the throttle lever to the position "Motor off". Through this device the motor may be re-started, and the flight may be
continued.
Caution! Bring your plane at once back to the airfield if the motor RPMs drop as the battery tension drops. There will only few
seconds be left to land the plane before the motor finally cuts. In this case the model must be landed in autorotation. If, however, you
select a lower deregulation tension for LiPo batteries you'll have a little more time at your disposition. If, however, you carry on
flying until the controller disconnects you'll have all the less time for landing.
After finishing the whole setup programme, disconnect the battery and turn the transmitter on again, in standard mode, to start the motor.
When you've changed only one function all the others will keep their former settings.
Factory settings:
1-2 Standard disconnecting tension for LiPo/LiIo batteries
2-1 auto timing for brushless motors
3-2 standard reaction time
4-2 soft brake
5-1 operation mode airplane model / normal
-
Warning: Once the main power pack is connected, handle the model with extreme care – Ensure that everyone is well clear
of the propeller at all times. Rotating propellers are extremely dangerous!
-
Connect the main power pack just before the flight and disconnect it immediately after landing.
-
If the motor does turn the wrong way, exchange the position of two of the three motor wires connections.
-
These controllers have automatic cut off with auto detection for the number and type of cells. This circuit provides the correct cut
off for all types and number of cells. The speed controller automatically provides a gradual low voltage motor cut-off. A gradual
low voltage motor cut-off is preferable with an aerobatic or HELI model to avoid a sudden loss of power which would inevitably
happen down wind and at low altitude.
-
Temperature overload protection is built into the speed controller which turns off the motor when the temperature reaches 110°C.
-
This speed controllers are equipped with protection functions that take care of the correct start and operation of the motor across
the whole range of revolutions and current. Do not connect the speed controller to just 'any' kind of power source. Take care to
ensure the correct polarity of NiCd, NiMH, LiIo or LiPo power packs. Your speed controller will be severely damaged if it is
connected to a battery using the wrong polarity.
Graupner GmbH & Co. KG wishes you many safe flights and happy landings.
