For figure 4:
Only install in dry rooms where the pump and the piping is protected from
freezing. Install in one of the permitted mounting positions. To save energy,
insulate the pumphousing with the matching thermal insulation shell included in
the package (item 11 in figure 9)
For figure 5:
On pumps with a timer, the motor housing may be turned so that the timer may
be seen more easily. Loosen the union nut before installation. Rotate the motor
housing to the required installation position. Tighten the union nut. When
installing the pump in a horizontal position, the timer shall point upwards. it may
be turned in the range from 10:30 to 13:30 ( +/- 45°) at maximum in order to
maintain protection class IP 42.
7.1 Electrical connection (see figure 6)
The pump may only be connected by an authorized electrical specialist.
The connection wire must be de-energized during connection and may
only be energized after the electrical compartment has been closed.
WARNING
Follow the connection steps as shown in figure 6.
In case of unit equipped with timer follow the sequence shown in fig. 7.
The pump must not be connected to the mains network with a plug

It shall be feasible to disconnect the unit from the mains voltage with a switch
built into the network. The switch shall have minimum 3 mm contact gap ( in line
with overvoltage category III.) and shall disconnect both poles ( phase and

7.2

Getting started

WARNING

Before ever starting the pump:

- The system must be flushed thoroughly to prevent foreign objects and
impurities from blocking the pump.
- The system must be filled.
- After filling the system with liquid, any residual air shall be removed from the
pumphousing. To aid this effort, the pump is equipped with a built-in air purge
function. Turn the knob to setting 7 (the air purge symbol is shown over the
Before the electrical connection is energized, the unit must be
filled; if not, the bearings will be destroyed by dry operation.
The pump may not be run dry, as this can destroy the
bearings in a very short time.
