4. Remove ski pole pivot cover.
5. Using snap ring pliers, remove the snap ring from the ski pole pivot shaft.
6. Remove the thrust bearing washer (P1179) from the ski pole pivot shaft.
7. Slide the ski pole out of the upright assembly and the upper body
connecting link. Be careful not to lose the thrust bearing washer and
thrust washer that are on the other side of the ski pole.
8. Slide the connecting link off the rear connecting link shaft.
9. Install new upper body connecting link on rear connecting link shaft.
10. Reinstall the thrust washer on the rear connecting link shaft.
11. Reinstall the snap ring on the rear connecting link shaft.
12. Make sure the thrust washer is on the bottom ski pole-connecting link
shaft and the thrust bearing washer is on the ski pole pivot shaft.
13. Insert the ski pole-connecting link shaft through the connecting link and
the ski pole pivot shaft through the upright assembly at the same time.
14. Reinstall the other thrust bearing washer on the ski pole pivot shaft.
15. Reinstall the snap ring on the ski pole pivot shaft.
16. Put the ski pole pivot cover in place and reinstall the screw and washer.
17. Tighten screw.
18. Reinstall the other thrust washer on the ski pole-connecting link shaft.
19. Reinstall the snap ring on the ski pole-connecting link shaft.
20. Test unit.
