1. Insert Module air gap gauge: 91004 (A) or 0.3
- 0.4 mm (0.012 - 0.016 in) thick feeler gauge be-
tween ywheel (B) and ignition module shoes.
2. Rotate ywheel until magnetic poles of ywheel
face ignition module shoes.
3. Hold ignition module against ywheel and tight-
en the bolts to speci ed torque (Refer to "Service
information 1-3 Torque limits"). After tightening
bolts, remove Module air gap gauge: 91004 (A) (or
feeler gauge).
NOTE: When air gap is too narrow, contact with
ywheel may result. When the air gap is too wide,
spark is weak.
1. Referring to "4-6 Replacing ignition module", re-
move engine assembly from inner fan case.
2. Remove primary lead terminal (A) from ignition
module (B).
3. Connect one probe of Ohm-meter or multi-meter
to terminal (c1) of ignition switch (C). Connect the
other probe to the other terminal (c2) of ignition
switch.
4. When ignition switch is upward ("RUN" position),
tester should indicate in nite resistance.
5. When ignition switch is in "STOP" position, tes-
ter should show that the circuit is in conducting
state (closed circuit).
6. If ignition switch is defective, replace with a new
one.
