ISO HYDROCYCLONE APPLICATIONS
ISO Hydroseparator (Mini-Separator and ISO Hydrocyclone)
The ISO Hydroseparator is manufactured in two versions: single-surgery and multi-surgery
with electronic control of the amalgam level.

Short instructions

(fi g. 6-7-8-13 pag. 55-56-58)
The appliance is to be assembled inside the dental unit (this assembly can be studied
and carried out by the dental unit manufacturer only) or inside a fl oor cabinet, next to the
dental unit (the version for external assembly can be connected by the service engineer).
The aspirated fl uid (fi ltered through a 0,8 mm fi lter) is conveyed to the Mini-Separator (fi g.
6 part. A), by means of a slightly sloping pipe to enhance its operation. Air exits from the
passage (B), when the liquid level has reached the two long probes (part. C) the drainage
pump (D) sends the liquid to the ISO Hydrocyclone (E), the amalgam separates from the
liquid and collects in the container (F) whilst the liquid is sent to sewers (outlet 4). When
the liquid reaches the shorter probe (H), the suction stops and starts up again when the
liquid retracts from the two longer probes.
The spittoon drainage unit (I) starts the aspiration when liquid is detected. The spittoon
rinsing is to be timed at 20 seconds.
Filter (L) must be cleaned everyday. Through the electronic control of the amalgam level,
over-fi lling of the Mini-Separator and amalgam container will be detected.
The spittoon fi lter (part. G) must retain solid particles as much as possible order to ensure
correct functioning of the spittoon drainage unit.
AC 35 electrical diagram is shown on page 58 (fi g. 13) together with electrical connections
of Mini-Separator, draining pump, spittoon draining unit and amalgam level control.
Turbo-Jet
and ISO Hydrocyclone
modular
(fi g. 8-9-10-14-16 pag. 56-57-59-61)
All our units Turbo-Jet
can be fi tted with ISO Hydrocyclone. The liquid coming out of
modular
the centrifugal separator creates pressure into the ISO Hydrocyclone, which separates amal-
gam. The ISO Hydrocyclone is fi tted with an electronic control of the amalgam level.

Pal 22 and 50 VE Pumps and ISO Hydrocyclone
(fi g. 11-15 page 57-60)
The centrifugal separator receives the fl uid that is conveyed to the Hydrocyclones ISO (B)
throught pipe (A). Detailed instructions shall be supplied with the equipment.

Large systems with separating tanks and ISO Hydrocyclone

(fi g. 12-16 pag. 57-61)
The draining pump (F fi g. 12), started by the presence of liquid in the Separator-Tank (D),
raises the pressure in the ISO Hydrocyclones (C) that separate amalgam and drain the
liquid into the sewer.
The P.B. AC 54/55 (page 62) shows the connections between the amalgam level electronic
control and the electric circuit controlling the Separator-Tank.
Detailed instructions shall be supplied with the equipment.
