I bought a used Healthstream Programmable Classic Exercise Bike and the resistance will not adjust. It seems to be on the most resistance and doesn't adjust to a lower level. How do I fix it and what manual should I download.

To fix the resistance adjustment issue on a Healthstream HS12.2BK Programmable Classic Exercise Bike, follow these steps:

1. Check the Tension Cable: Ensure the tension cable (part A1 or D1) is properly connected to both the control panel and the resistance mechanism.

2. Inspect the Controller: Verify that the controller (part D3) and controller bar (D6) are securely connected and not damaged.

3. Examine the Sensor Wires: Make sure sensor wires (A2 and D2) are correctly attached and not broken.

4. Use the Tension Knob: Confirm the central tension knob is turning smoothly. If not, check for obstructions or damage.

5. Test the Resistance Function: Use the computer panel to adjust resistance. If no change occurs, ensure the system is receiving pulse input and power.

6. Check the Bearings and Pulley: Make sure the bearings (A5, A7) and pulley (A6) are functioning properly and not jammed.

If the above steps do not resolve the issue, a component may need replacement.
