Installation
The O z C harge W orkshop C harger i s i ntended a s a p ortable c harger f or u se i n w orkshops a nd o n s ervice c alls.
However, d epending o n t he a pplication a nd f ield o f u se, i t m ay a lso b e p ractical t o m ount t he c harger o n t he w all i n
order t o s et u p a s tationary c harging s tation. F or t his p urpose, t he d evice h as f eet w ith a ppropriate o penings f or
mounting b olts.
Connecting the battery charger to your battery
If t he B attery i s o ut o f t he v ehicle:
-­‐ C onnect t he R ed ( +) C rocodile c lip o r o ptional r ing t erminal t o t he ( +) b attery t erminal.
-­‐ C onnect t he B lack ( -­‐ ) C rocodile c lip o r o ptional r ing t erminal t o t he ( -­‐ ) b attery t erminal.
If t he b attery i s s till i n t he v ehicle, d etermine i f t he v ehicle i s p ositively o r n egatively e arthed.
If N egatively E arthed ( Most C ommon) – F IRST C onnect t he R ed ( +) C rocodile c lip o r o ptional r ing t erminal l ead t o t he ( +)
battery t erminal a nd t hen c onnect t he B lack ( -­‐ ) C rocodile c lip o r o ptional r ing t erminal l ead t o t he v ehicle's c hassis. D O
NOT c onnect t he B lack ( -­‐ ) l ead t o t he c arburetor o r f uel l ines.
If P ositively E arthed – F IRST C onnect t he B lack ( -­‐ ) C rocodile c lip o r o ptional r ing t erminal l ead t o t he ( -­‐ ) b attery t erminal
and t hen c onnect t he R ed ( +) C rocodile c lip o r o ptional r ing t erminal l ead t o t he v ehicle's c hassis. D O N OT c onnect t he R ed
(+) l ead t o t he c arburetor o r f uel l ines.
Connecting the battery charger to Mains Power (240Vac)
The c harger w ill a utomatically s tart w hen A C p ower i s c onnected a nd s witched o n. A fter c onnection t o t he m ains, o ne
of t he f ive o perating L EDs w ill s tart t o b link, s ignaling t he c urrent s tatus o f o peration. P ress t he M ode k ey t o s witch
from o ne t ype o f o peration a nd b attery t o a nother: p ress a nd h old t he M ode k ey u ntil t he L ED n ext t o t he d esired
position l ights u p. T hen r elease t he M ode k ey. A fter a f ew s econds, t he c harger w ill s tart i n t he p rogram t hat h as
been s elected.
IMPORTANT: P lease m ake s ure t he c orrect B attery T ype ( and/or c harger V oltage i f y ou h ave a n O C-­‐ W 122470P) i s s elected
to s uit y our w ithin t he f irst 5 m inutes o f c harging. F or E xample d o n ot c harge a G el B attery o n t he S tandard B attery T ype
setting a s t his m ay d amage y our b attery a nd / o r r educe y our b attery l ife.
Note: I f t he F ault I ndicator L ED i lluminates R ed, p lease c heck y our c onnections a s i t's l ikely t hat t he P ositive a nd N egative
Leads a re r eversed o r i f y ou h ave a n O C-­‐ 1 22470P u nit a nd t he o range a nd r ed e rror L ED f lash a lternatively y ou h ave
selected t he i ncorrect C harge V oltage.
The p rogram r uns f ully a utomatically. A s s oon a s t he b attery i s f ully c harged, t he L ED d isplay w ill s witch f rom o range
to g reen a nd t he c harging v oltage w ill b e r educed t o m aintenance c harging. T he b attery c an n ow b e d isconnected o r
remain c onnected t o t he c harger u ntil i t i s r equired. D uring t his t ime, t he c harger e nsures t hat t he b attery r emains
fully c harged, i rrespective o f h ow l ong i t s tays c onnected t o t he c harger.
