If any piping, evaporator or condenser had been exposed or had been opened for 15 seconds or more, then vacuum and purge with field supplied refrigerant. Generally, do not remove plastic, rubber plugs and brass nuts from the valves, fittings, tubing and coils until it is ready to connect suction or liquid line into valves or fittings.

    VACUUMING AND CHARGING Vacuuming is necessary to eliminate all moisture and air from the system. The series II Outdoor Unit is provided with flare valve fittings. Charging Vacuuming Before charging, the vacuum must be held at 500 microns Hg Before vacuuming, perform leak check for refrigeration for at least 15 minutes, then break vacuum by charging R-22 circuit.
