Hardware Description

The main functions are performed by the following components of the LTH power unit:

– Power line input module

– Power line filter

– Isolation transformer

– Voltage supply module

– Output stage
– Control module
2.4.1 Power Line Input Module
As power line input, the power unit LTH has a standardized IEC receptacle. The switch-on current is re-
stricted to 30A maximum. A fuse on the power line input module protects from possible overcurrents.

An IEC receptacle is available parallel to the power line input for connection of an external power tool
control (e.g. SE 200).
CAUTION: Connect only intended power tool components to the IEC receptacle (see section "Over-
2.4.2 Power Line Filter
The power line filter suppresses the radio interference voltages generated by the frequency converter.
This ensures that there is no interference with the function of electronic assemblies in the power unit and
in the connected components.
2.4.3 Isolation Transformer
The circuits in the power unit and in the connected hand-held power tool are electrically isolated from the
power line by the isolation transformer. This precaution prevents voltages from being conducted via the
ground conductor to the worker when an error occurs (defect in other equipment).
The isolation transformer complies with VDE 0551.

2.4.4 Voltage Supply Module
The voltage supply module supplies the direct current for the output stage. A switched power supply ge-
nerates the supply voltages for the logic of the power unit, of the current control (option) and of the hand-
held power tool.
The output voltages of the voltage supply module as well as the temperature of the power line transformer
are monitored.
