Z1361 Trouble-shooting Guide

PROBLEM CAUSE
Hydrant will not operate Water supply
when turned on is shut off
Cannot turn the hydrant Hydrant hasn't been
on with key used for a long time -
"O" ring has adhered
to operating screw
and head
Water does not shut Debris between seat
completely off when and washer
hydrant is turned off
Washer is worn out
Wire draw in seat
Water is flowing out Washer guide "O" rings Follow steps 1-3
of the hydrant drainage are broken or missing
port when the hydrant
is turned on
Hydrant exhibits low flow Water supply to
hydrant is restricted
SOLUTION
Turn on water supply
Follow steps 1-2, 4
and 7-8 of the
Service Guide
Follow steps 1-3
and 6-8 of the
Service Guide.
Clean by turning
water supply on
and flush hydrant
Follow steps 1-3
and 5-8 of the
Service Guide
Replace seat
and 5-8 of the
Service Guide
Check water supply
to ensure that all
upstream valves are
fully open
