Information on
sharpening
The cutting parts of the chain are the
cutting links which consist of a cutting
tooth and a depth limiting nib. The
height difference between these two
determines the sharpening depth.
First sharpen the teeth on one side.
Then adjust the sharpening angle and
sharpen the teeth on the other side.
After sharpening, all the cutting links
must have the same length and
breadth.
After every third sharpening, the
sharpening depth (depth limitation)
must be checked, and the height must
be filed down using a flat file. The
depth limitation should be set back
approximately 0.65 mm
compared to the cutting
tooth. After filing the
depth limitation down,
round it off by slightly slid-
ing forward.
The chain has become worn down
and must be replaced by a new saw
chain when only around 4 mm of the
cutting tooth remains.
Adjust the transparent cover regularly
in order to compensate for wear on
the grinding disc (see chapter „Initial
start-up").
Maintenance and
cleaning
Disconnect the plug before adjust-
ment, maintenance or repair.
Have any work not described in
these instructions carried out by
a specialist workshop. Use only
original components. Allow the
equipment to cool before car-
rying out any maintenance and
cleaning work. There is a risk of
burns.
Before each use, check the equipment
for obvious defects such as loose, worn
or damaged components and check that
screws or other parts are sitting correctly.
In particular, check the grinding disk (
18). Replace damaged parts.
