4 − Recording

Making the first recording

We assume that you're recording the rhythm guitar to start
with, and that you will be recording it on track 1.
Note that inputs on the 2488neo are lettered from
through
. Tracks are numbered from 1 through 24.

Recording the guitar

Plug the guitar into the
front of the 2488neo. Then plug a pair of head-
phones into the
PHONES

Play the guitar, and adjust the level using
control
so that when you play a loud note, the
H
indicator above the
INPUT-H
Then turn the
counterclockwise a little to set
TRIM
the appropriate level.
If you want to tune the guitar using the 2488neo, see
"Tuner" on page 43.

Press and hold the
INPUT-H
flash. While holding it down, press the
of channel 1. Now both these keys will flash.
Now release both keys. They will both be lit. This
means that input
H
is now assigned to track 1.

is special on the 2488neo—it is duplicated at the
front of the 2488neo with an input for electric guitars and
basses (active guitars and basses should use a 1/4 "
jack at the rear of the unit). Only use this front input jack
for passive electric guitars and basses and do not plug these
instruments into any other jacks.

Set both fader 1 and the

Confirm that the
MONITOR SOURCE

MONITOR LEVEL
adjust the monitor level. You can also monitor in
mono (see "Monitoring" on page 36).

and adjust the guitar tone. The sound you hear is
the sound that will be recorded (see "EQ" on page
31).
