answering machine starts to play the new
messages.If there is no new messages, your
answering machine will go to the command
waiting mode. Press
messages.
4. When your answering machine is in
the command waiting mode, enter a
command from the chart:
If you don't press any keys for 10
seconds, the phone will hang up and
return to standby.

Possible solutions
Check the telephone cord connection.
Disconnect the base AC adapter. Wait a few
minutes, then reconnect it.
Make sure the base is plugged in.
Move the handset closer to the base.
Make sure the ringer is turned on.
Charge the battery for 15-20 hours.
Check the battery connection.
Re-register the handset to the base.
Move the handset closer to the base. The
handset may be at the edge of the base's range.
Let calls ring twice before answering.
Make sure your CID service is active.
Re-register all handsets to the same base.
