Controls

Become familiar with all the controls
you start the engine and operate the machine.
Safety Bail
The safety bail controls the engine. Hold the safety
bail against the handle when you start the engine and
use the machine. Release the safety bail to shut off
the engine
(Figure
3).
Throttle Lever
The throttle lever controls engine speed. With the
lever down, in the D
ISENGAGE
runs at idle. This is also the starting position. When
the engine speed increases, to the E
the centrifugal clutch engages and the cutting wheel
rotates.

Parking Brake
The parking brake holds the left wheel from turning to
secure the machine and for easy movement of the
machine from side to side when grinding a stump
(Figure
5).

Hour Meter
The hour meter displays the number of hours of
operation that have been logged on the machine.

Use the choke lever
Before pulling the recoil-start handle, move the choke
lever to the C
