2-8 Options Installation
• IBM RT PC Extended ESDI Magnetic Media Adapter
The IBM RT PC Extended ESDI Magnetic Media Adapter is used
only with E70, E114 and 310 megabyte fixed-disk drives and will
not operate with R40 or R70 fixed-disk drives. In addition, the
Extended ESDI Magnetic Media Adapter must be used with the
IBM RT PC Advanced Processor Card (APC) or with the IBM RT
PC Enhanced Advanced Processor Card.
Up to three E70, E114 or 310 megabyte fixed-disk drives can be
used with a single Extended ESDI Magnetic Media Adapter.
If you are installing a second drive, use the chart on 2-9 and 2-10 to
determine the correct drive position and installation procedures for
the new drive.
If you are installing a third drive, use the charts on 2-11 through
2-13 to determine the correct drive position and installation
procedures for the new drive.
