The IBM Personal Computer AT Fixed-Disk and Diskette Drive
Adapter is used with the R40 fixed-disk drive. You may use up to
two Personal Computer AT Fixed-Disk and Diskette Drive Adapters.
The adapter in slot 1 can operate one or two R40 fixed-disk drives
in drive positions C and D; in slot 2, the adapter can operate an R40
fixed-disk drive in drive position E. The Personal Computer AT
Fixed-Disk and Diskette Adapter will not operate an R70 fixed-disk
drive.
Before installing the drive adapter, you must set the jumpers.
To set the jumpers, lift the jumpers off the pins and install them as
shown below:
Note: Do not install the drive adapter until told to do so in the
drive installation instructions.
If there are other options to be installed, do so now, and then
check out the system using Section 9, "Checking Out the Option
Installation" on page 9-1.
