Setting the feedback for the DALI error status
The ETS parameterization allows to define whether the error status feedback is to be transmitted
actively to the KNX/EIB (telegram transmission when status has changed) or passively (telegram
transmission only in case of a trigger request).
Set the "DALI error status feedback ?" parameter on the "General" parameter page to "Yes, feedback
object is an active message object".
As soon as an error has been detected at a DALI device during the cyclical status request, the DALI-
Gateway will send a feedback telegram with the corresponding device number to the KNX/EIB.
As soon as an error at the DALI device has been eliminated, the DALI-Gateway will detect the
elimination of error as long as the operating voltage supply had been available without any
interruptions and it will send, corresponding to the DALI device number, a feedback telegram "No
error" to the KNX/EIB.
This is where the behaviour of the DALI-Gateway depends on the device version. The difference can
be explained as follows...
In case of devices showing the version identification "I01" on the device label, another feedback
telegram will be directly transmitted to the KNX/EIB when an eliminated error has been
acknowledged provided that at least one more DALI error was detected by the Gateway. This
ensures that further DALI errors can be immediately detected by the operating or maintenance
personnel, for example, with visualization. If no other device or lamp error has been detected, no
other feedback telegram will be send by the Gateway.
In case of a DALI Gateway without the version identification on the device label mentioned above,
further identified errors will not be sent again to the KNX/EIB during the elimination of a device or
lamp error. The transmission of a feedback telegram relating to a DALI device is thus taking place
only once in each case after the error has been detected.
An stored error in the DALI Gateway will get lost in case of a mains voltage failure. Thus, no more
feedback will be transmitted once an error has been eliminated by switching off and on again the
mains voltage at the DALI Gateway.
The DALI Gateway initializes after the programming of the ETS or after the mains voltage has been
switched on. If a DALI error has been detected the Gateway will proceed to transmit the
corresponding feedback telegram. The "DALI error status" will not be automatically transmitted to the
bus after the return of bus voltage (mains voltage at the Gateway is permanently switched on during
bus failure).
