you even if you are across the room from it – speak to it in a normal
tone and speed. Even in noisy environments, the Google Home
can pick out your voice over all other sounds in the room. Too
much noise will effect whether it can hear you so be aware of that.
After you've said the wake word, pause briefly to see if the Home
responds. If the Home hears its wake word, the top of the device
will light up to indicate it is listening for a command or question. If
this doesn't happen, either move closer to the Home, talk louder or
stop any noise that may be interfering.

Give it a command

When speaking to Google Assistant we suggest you speak as clearly
as possible to avoid the possibility of it mishearing you. After saying
"OK Google," the Home will begin listening; now you can ask it a
question or issue a command. For example, you can listen to a news
report by saying "OK Google, tell me the news". After you've asked
this Google Assistant will play the latest headlines. At any point of
the report you can say "Hey Google, stop" and the news will end. If
you can't hear the news say "OK Google, turn it up" or alternatively
you can set the volume by asking the assistant to set the volume to
a set number between one and ten or a percentage between 1-100.
You can also ask Assistant questions and it will use Google's vast
search engine to find the answer. What's cool is it will remember the
last question so you can ask a follow up question. For example, you
can ask "Where is the nearest cafe?" and then follow up by asking
"When does it close?" and Assistant will know you are referring to
the cafe from the initial question.
If Google Assistant doesn't understand what you've asked it will
respond by saying "I don't know that yet" or something similar. If this
happens try rephrasing the question or simplifying it. Google Home
utilises the incredible power of Google's search so it should usually
find something, but this may not be exactly what you're looking for.
Try to be really specific to get the best results.
