Fix 10 common Google Home problems
Assistant. If you are unsure whether or not your
device is, Google provide a list of all compatible
devices: support.google.com/googlehome/
answer/7172483?hl=en-GB to see the list.
If your device is compatible then you should
say "OK Google, sync my devices" and it will sync
to any devices it knows. If this doesn't work, check
that the Google Home and the device you are
trying to connect it to are both on the same Wi-Fi
network. Check that the device you are trying to
connect to Google Home works on its own with
its native app if it has one. If these steps don't
work, go into the Google Home app, unlink the
device and re-link it and try again.

My Google Home won't connect
to my Bluetooth devices
If your Bluetooth device is battery-powered,
check that it is fully charged; this can affect the
connection process. If your device has removable
batteries, remove the ones in the device and
replace them with new ones.
When pairing, keep the two devices close to
each other, anything in between the two can
cause interference such as walls, door or even
other wireless devices.
If your Google Home is already connected to a
few Bluetooth devices but it won't connect to one
more, you should clear the existing devices before
adding the new one. After you've removed the
devices, unplug it and wait around one minute
before plugging it back in. Put Google Home into
pairing mode and then do the same with the
other device using its instruction manual.

Google Assistant doesn't hear/
understand me
To get the best results from your Google
Home we recommend that the device be kept
somewhere that is at least waist high. Placing it

on a table or shelf is ideal because if it is too low
to the ground then it may have difficulty hearing
you. When the wake word is said the Home's LED
Ring should come on and pulse. If it doesn't come
on turn the device off and then on again.
When speaking to your Google Home, speak
as clearly as you can and avoid using slang.
Talking too fast may cause it to misinterpret what
you've said and it will perform the wrong task, or
it may just do nothing. You can ask "OK Google,
repeat the question" and Google Assistant will
say back what it heard. Listening to this can help
you understand how to phrase the question.
Rephrasing questions or commands and making
them as precise as possible will get better results.

Alarms and timers are too quiet

The volume settings for alarms and timers
are different from the volume settings for Google
Assistant and the media it plays. You cannot
adjust the alarm's volume using the light ring on
top of the device. Instead, you must go into the
Google Home app on your smartphone or tablet.
Tap on the devices icon in the top-right corner
of the screen, scroll until you find your Google
