9. Cleaning and care
Basically, the phase comparator must be handled with care.
9.1
Cleaning
Clean soiled phase comparators using a lint-free damp cloth (e.g. wash leather) before and after each
use. No cleaning agents or solvents may be used to clean the device. The membrane in the sound outlet
is extremely sensitive and must neither be cleaned nor contacted in any other way and must be regu-
larly checked for signs of damage.
9.2
Humidity
Damp, wet or condensed phase comparators (e.g. as a result of extreme temperature fluctuations)
must be wiped clean before and after use. If required, wait until the phase comparator has reached the
ambient temperature.
10. Transport and storage
Transport and store phase comparators in a dry place and ensure that their performance is not com-
promised. Clean all components using a lint-free damp cloth. Solvents or aggressive cleaning agents
must not be used.
10.1 Transport
Phase comparators should be transported in a transport case, storage device or protective cover.
10.2 Storage
The temperature and air humidity prescribed by the climatic category must be complied with during
Â
transport and storage (see 2.11).
