6. Errors

Replace the battery (see 7.1) if the phase comparator cannot be switched on (see 5.2). If the phase
comparator still cannot be switched on after the battery has been replaced or if signs of mechanical
damage are visible, the device must be sent to DEHN + SÖHNE.
Error
Interruption of the measure-
ment (yellow flashlight stops
too early)
Functional test not passed

Elimination of errors
*) If a system does not fulfil the frequency conditions (see 2.13), the single-pole measuring principle
cannot be used for physical reasons. A two-pole phase comparator must be used.

7. Maintenance of the indicator

Replace the batteries at the latest when performing a maintenance test.
Â
Annually check the phase comparator for proper operation (procedure according to 5.2).
Â
Cause
nterference fields due to unfa-
vourable conductor arrange-
ment
Insufficient frequency stability
Weak battery
Interference field superimposed
on self-test signal
Remedy
Change the sequence: Contact
the problematic conductor first
Observe the conditions of 2.13,
page 6. Try again *
Replace the battery
Do not attach the phase compa-
rator to energised parts of the
installation during the functio-
nal test.
