When using electrical appliances, to reduce
the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury,
basic safety precautions should always be fol-
lowed, including the following:
I Please read all instructions.
I Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or
knobs.
I To protect against fire or electric shock, do
not remove bottom cover from coffeemaker
base. There are no user-serviceable parts
inside. Repairs should be done by autho-
rized service personnel only.
I Close supervision is necessary when any
appliance is used by or near children.
I Unplug from outlet when coffeemaker is not
in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool
before putting on or taking off parts and
before cleaning the coffeemaker.
I Do not operate any appliance with a dam-
aged cord or plug or after the appliance
malfunctions or has been damaged in any
manner. Return the appliance to the near-
est authorized service facility for examina-
tion, repair, or adjustment.
I The use of an accessory not evaluated for
use with this coffeemaker may cause fire,
electric shock, or injury.
I Do not use outdoors.
I Do not let cord hang over edge of table or
counter or touch hot surfaces.
I Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric
stove or burner or in a heated oven.
I Do not use coffeemaker for other than
intended purpose.
I The Thermal Carafe is designed for use with
this appliance. It must never be used on a
range top.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
I Allow filter basket to cool before removing it
from coffeemaker.
I Do not pour liquid other than water and the
cleaning solution specified in this manual
into the water reservoir.
I Do not move entire unit when Thermal
Carafe contains hot liquid.
I Do not operate in the presence of explosive
and/or flammable fumes.
I This product is intended for household use
ONLY and not for commercial or industrial
use.
I Do not use the Thermal Carafe in any other
drip coffeemaker.
I Do not disassemble the Thermal Carafe.
I Do not use the Thermal Carafe in a
microwave oven.
I Do not place any sharp or hard objects in
the Thermal Carafe.
I Do not use a cracked carafe.
I Keep serving lid on Thermal Carafe during
brewing and while serving coffee.
I Do not clean Thermal Carafe with
cleansers, steel wool pads, or other abra-
sive material.
I If the glass liner should break, do not con-
sumer remaining beverage.
I Do not fill the Thermal Carafe with carbon-
ated beverages.
I Avoid sudden temperature changes for the
glass liner. If the glass liner is hot, do not
add very cold water or vice versa.
I Do not immerse Thermal Carafe in water.
