FAULTS
(continued)
On the road
• Abnormal white smoke from the
exhaust.
• Smoke under the bonnet.
• The oil pressure warning light lights
up
- on a bend or under braking
- at idle speed
- is slow to go out or remains lit up
under acceleration
• The engine lacks power.
• Unstable idle speed or the engine
stalls.
CAUSES
Mechanical
fault:
cylinder
gasket blown.
Short circuit.
Coolant circuit fault.
The level is too low
Low oil pressure
Lack of oil pressure
Clogged air filter.
Fuel supply faulty.
Faulty spark plugs, incorrectly set.
Poor
compression
(spark
ignition, air leak).
REMEDIAL ACTION
head
Stop the engine.
Contact a RENAULT Dealer.
Stop, turn the ignition off, disconnect
the battery.
Contact a RENAULT Dealer.
Top up the engine oil (refer to the
information entitled "Engine oil level
-Topping up/Filling" in Section 4).
Visit the nearest RENAULT Dealer.
Stop: contact a RENAULT Dealer.
Replace cartridge.
Check the fuel level.
Contact a RENAULT Dealer.
