If the forks are longer than the
load, move the forks under
the load so that the tips of the
forks do not extend beyond
the load. Lift the load from the
surface. Move backward or
retract forks a few inches,
then lower the load onto the
surface and inch forward or
extend forks to engage the
load against the carriage. Tilt the forks backward just far
enough to lift the load from the surface. Raise the load to
clear the base arms and retract the forks.
3. Put the load on the floor. If
the lift truck is equipped with a tilt
function tilt the carriage forward
to permit smooth removal of the
forks. Carefully move the lift
truck backward to remove the
forks from under the load.
