FUN Parameters

FUN is short for function. FUNs are mathematical functions that allow you to flexibly
combine and modify modulation signals from multiple control sources.
Each FUN accepts input from two control sources, performs a selectable function on the two
input signals, and sends the result as its output, which can be assigned like any other control
source.

Input a, Input b

Use the Input a and Input b parameters to select two inputs for each function. Inputs can be
control sources (MIDI controllers, LFOs, envelopes, etc) or constant values between -1 and
+1.
All control source inputs to FUNs are scaled to a value in the range 0 to +1 (unipolar), or -1
to +1 (bipolar). Most inputs are unipolar, but some inputs (like envelopes and LFOs) may be
unipolar or bipolar depending on their settings.
Most MIDI controllers are unipolar, so their 0-127 range gets scaled to 0 to +1. Some MIDI
controllers can be bipolar as well. For example, the control source list has 2 choices for Mod
Wheel: Mod Wheel (unipolar) and Bi-Mwl (bipolar).
For a unipolar input, a value of OFF equals a constant value of 0, and a value of ON equals a
constant value of +1.
For a bipolar input, a value of -ON equals a constant value of -1, and a value of ON equals a
constant value of +1.
Function
The Function parameter determines what mathematical function is applied to the two inputs.
The output of FUNs can act as unipolar or bipolar control sources, depending on the values
of the inputs and the selected function. When the output of a FUN is used as a Mod control
source, the -1 to +1 range of values is scaled based on the Depth setting of the Mod source.
