THE
ENG
INE

serve
th
e
green
neu
tral indicator lamp
on
the
left
side
of
th
e
tach ometer.
The
lamp will light when the tran
s-
mission is in
th
e
neutral
position.
3. Raise
t
he
choke
lever
to the
ful
ly
closed
posi
ti
on
.
4.
Twist the
thro
tt
le
grip
counter
clock-
w
ise
sligh tly
and
depress the
starter
button.
If the engine
does
not
star
t
wi thin
5
seco
nds,
release
the starter
button
and
wa
it
appr
oximately
10
second
s
before
depressi ng
the
sta
r
ter
button
again.
If
the
engi ne
does
n
ot
readi
ly
start with the
start er
motor,
prevent
excessive
battery
drain
by
usi
ng
the
kick
starter pedal
to
sta rter
th
e
engine.
If
the engine fai ls
to start
after sever
al r
epea
ted
attempts,
turn
the
ignition
swi
tch
"OFF" and
lower
the
choke lever
t
o
the
fu lly
open
posi-
tion
.
Twist
the
throttl
e
grip
fu
l
ly
counter
clockwise and crank the
en
gine
using either the
starter
motor
or
kick
starter.
Then
t
urn the
ignitio
n switch
to "ON"
and
fol
low the
starting p
r
o-
cedure
outlined in
steps
1
thr
ough
4,

ithou
t
using the choke.
5.
After
th
e
engine
sta
rts,
operate at
ap-
proxi
mately
1500
rpm until the
engine
r
esponds
pr
oper
ly to
the th
r
ottle
wi
th
the choke fully open.
