Configuration rules for storage features

Use the following general configuration rules and ordering information to help you
order storage features.
High Performance Flash Enclosures Gen2
Follow these configuration rules when you order storage features for storage
systems with High Performance Flash Enclosures Gen2.
High Performance Flash Enclosures Gen2
For storage systems that support both standard drive enclosures and High
Performance Flash Enclosures Gen2, DS8884 configurations can have one
High Performance Flash Enclosure Gen2 pair in the base and first
expansion frames, and DS8886 configurations can have two High
Performance Flash Enclosure Gen2 pairs in the base and first expansion
frames.
For all-flash storage systems, DS8884F configurations can have four High
Performance Flash Enclosure Gen2 pair in the base frame, DS8886F
configurations can have four High Performance Flash Enclosure Gen2 pair
in the base and first expansion frame, and DS8888F configurations can
have four High Performance Flash Enclosure Gen2 pair in the base frame,
and six High Performance Flash Enclosure Gen2 pair in the first and
second expansion frames.
Flash drive sets
Each High Performance Flash Enclosure Gen2 pair requires a minimum of
one 16 flash-drive set.
Storage enclosure fillers
For High Performance Flash Enclosures Gen2, one filler feature provides a
set of 16 fillers. If only one flash-drive set is ordered, then two storage
enclosure fillers are needed to fill the remaining 32 slots in the High
Performance Flash Enclosures Gen2 pair.
Flash RAID adapters
The flash RAID adapters are included in the I/O enclosure feature and are
not ordered separately.
Drive cables
One drive cable set is required to connect the High Performance Flash
Enclosure Gen2 to dedicated PCIe ports in the I/O enclosure. This cable set
is included in the High Performance Flash Enclosure Gen2 feature and is
not ordered separately.
