Adjusting the Convergence
Automatically (AUTO FOCUS)
The projection tube image appears on the
screen in three layers (red, green and blue). If
they do not converge, the color is poor and
the picture blurs.
Before you use your projection TV, be sure to
adjust the convergence.
The AUTO FOCUS feature allows you to
adjust the convergence automatically.
Tip z
• It is recommended to perform AUTO FOCUS about
30 minutes after the projection TV is first turned on.
Press AUTO FOCUS.
The cross pattern appears and AUTO FOCUS
begins to work. The adjustment is completed
when the cross pattern becomes white.

To obtain an optimum
convergence
The optimum convergence alignment varies
with broadcasts in each wide screen mode
(see page 30 for DTV programs, and page 39
for conventional TV programs). It also varies
with broadcast formats for DTV programs.
Whenever you find that the picture blurs,
press AUTO FOCUS.
Note:
• You cannot perform any other functions
until AUTO FOCUS has completed its
cycle.
