Waveform Generation Tutorial
Pulse Width
Pulse Width is the time interval between the %50 threshold of the pulse rising amplitude and the
50% threshold of the pulse falling amplitude. Pulse duty ratio is defined as the percentage of the
pulse width of pulse cycle. Symmetry range can be set from 0% to 100%. The default value is
50%.
Leading Time
It is defined as the response curves from the steady state value of 10% to 90% steady state value.
Trialing Time
It is defined as the response curves from the steady state value of 90% to 10% steady state value

4.1 Generation of A Sine Wave Function

Sine wave is a wave with single frequency. It is named as Sine according to the sine graph. Any
complex signal can be seen as a signal
different sine wave with different frequency,
combined by
amplitude.
Please follow these steps to output sine wave:
1. Press Sine button in the front panel, if the waveform is setting as <modulation mode>, <sweep
mode> or <burst mode>, please turn off the mode;
2. Press channel output button in the front panel to open channel waveform output switch, then the
button is lighting;
3. Oscilloscope shows sine wave.
4. Modify the waveform <Frequency>. One way is to press frequency/cycle shortcut key F/T button
in the front panel. Another way is to press F1 button when it displays the main menu of the sine
wave. Then the selected parameter is highlighted.
5. Modify the waveform <Amplitude>. One way is to press AMP shortcut key in the front panel.
Another way is to press F2 button when it display main menu of the sine wave. Then the selected
parameter is highlighted.
6. Modify the waveform <DC OFFSET>. One way is to press Offset shortcut key in the front panel.
Another way is to press F3 button when it displays main menu of the sine wave. Then the selected
parameter is highlighted.
7. Modify the waveform <Phase>, the way is to press F4 button when it displays main menu of the
sine wave. Then the selected parameter is highlighted.
8. To set the same phase between channel 1 and channel 2, please press F5 button when it
displays main menu of the sine wave.
9. To change the parameters after being highlighted, user can use the front panel knobs and
digital keyboard to input parameter values. Please refer to the <Method of inputting parameters>.
