Skylights

Depending on the model, skylights with or without forced ventilation are fitted
to the vehicle. If a skylight is fitted without forced ventilation, the forced venti-
lation is performed using mushroom-shaped vents.
The apertures for forced ventilation must always be kept open. Never
cover or block forced ventilations with objects such as e.g. a winter mat.
Keep forced ventilations clear of snow and leaves.
The skylights are equipped with an insect screen and, depending on the
model, a blind or a Roman shade. After the latch has been released, the
blind automatically springs back to the initial position by tensile force. In
order not to damage the tension mechanics, hold onto the blind and allow
it to slowly return to the initial position.
Do not keep blinds closed over a longer period of time as that can cause
increased material wear.
If the blind or the Roman shade is completely closed, exposure to direct
sunlight can cause heat to accumulate between the blind/the Roman shade
and the skylight. The skylight could be damaged. For that reason, close the
blind/Roman shade only 2/3 of the way in direct sunlight. Open the skylight
slightly or move it to ventilation position.
Depending on the weather, close the skylights far enough to prevent mois-
ture from entering.
Do not climb on the skylights.
Before commencing the journey, close the skylights.
Before commencing the journey, check that the skylights are closed and
locked.
Treat seals on the skylights with a conventional rubber care product at least
once a year.
During the first annual inspection, the inside frame of the skylight must be
removed and the screw connections of the securing clips tightened. The
vehicle owner is responsible for seeing that this is carried out.
When leaving the vehicle, always close the skylights.
