Music collection
General information
Tracks from CDs and USB storage devices can
be stored in the music collection in the vehicle
and played from there.
CD: the tracks are converted into a com‐
pressed audio format and stored in a direc‐
tory that contains the name of the album. If
no information about the album, refer to
page 51, is stored, the directory and all tracks
receive an automated name.
USB storage device with compressed audio
files: all playable audio files from the USB
storage device are stored in a directory that
receives the name of the USB storage de‐
vice. Tracks and directories can be subse‐
quently renamed and deleted. Managing the
music collection, refer to page 53.
Tracks with Digital Rights Management DRM
copy protection can be stored but cannot be
played back.
Regularly back up your music collection, refer to
page 55, otherwise the stored music might be
lost if there is a fault on the hard disc.
Storing from CD
1.
Insert the audio CD, refer to page 50, into the
CD player.

"Media/Radio"

Move the Controller to the left.
5.
"Save CD"
The CD is stored in the music collection.
Follow the following during the storage process:
Do not remove the CD during storing, as this
could interrupt the storage process.
The music collection is switched to. Tracks
that have already been transferred can be
played back immediately.
Tracks from the CD cannot be played back.

Switching to other audio sources is possible.
Canceling storing from CD

Move the Controller to the left.

"Cancel saving"
The storage process is interrupted and can be
continued at any time.
Resuming storing from CD
1.
"Media/Radio"

"CD"
3.
Move the Controller to the left.
4.
"Continue saving"
Storing from a USB storage
device
1.
Connect the USB storage device, refer to
page 55, to the USB interface.
2.
"Media/Radio"

"USB"
Or:
Select the name of the USB storage device.
4.
Move the Controller to the left.
5.
"Import music"
The audio data is stored in the music collec‐
tion.
Follow the following during the storage process:
Do not remove the USB storage device dur‐
ing storing, as this could interrupt the storage
process.
The tracks on the USB storage device can
still be played back.
Switching to other audio sources is possible.
