15.4 Technical Information

Part 852 BioMonitor (Ultium BioMonitor SmartLead)

Each Ultium BioMonitor SmartLead (part # 852) works in-line with an Ultium EMG sensor (part
#810) Each SmartLead is identified by a unique serial number.
The Ultium BioMonitor SmartLead has 3 patient contact points (applied parts). Two points are
standard pinch receptacles for attachment to disposable electrodes. The third patient contact
point is the Ultium sensor itself. Refer to Appendix A for electrode and Ultium sensor placement.

Appendix A – BioMonitor Electrode Placement
The BioMonitor SmartLead is designed to simultaneously capture an ECG signal, heart rate,
respiration rate, and R-R Interval. To capture this data, two single electrodes are required and are
to be placed as demonstrated below for optimal results. This placement strategy utilizes the
LEFT lead (labeled - L), RIGHT lead (labeled R) and the Ultium Sensor (labeled –S) which acts
as the ground.
